TORONTO – Lansing Ignite FC secured yet another important point on Friday, drawing Toronto FC II 3-3 at the BMO Training Ground behind goals from Pato Botello-Faz, Brandon Fricke and Xavier Gomez.
The result sees the team's record move to 6-5-8, with the club's away record moving to 2-4-5.
TFC II took the lead in the match, with Jordan Perruzza scoring the opening goal in the 35th minute of action, but LIFC was not going to go down without a fight and responded quickly.
A great pass up field by Kevin Coiffic was collected by Elma Nfor, who dribbled into the box and was taken down before he could attempt a shot or pass. The center official called for a penalty, and Pato Botello-Faz stepped up and buried the chance from the spot to level the score.
LIFC would take the lead early into the second half, as captain Brandon Fricke scored his second goal of the regular season in the 51st minute. Xavier Gomez added a goal of his own following a brilliant pass into the center of the box by Nick Moon three minutes later to make the score 3-1 in favor of Lansing.
However, Patrick Bunk-Andersen and Rocco Romeo would each score a goal for the home side to see it remain unbeaten at home this regular season.
XAVIER GOMEZ: The midfielder scored the team's third goal on Friday and combined well with his teammates throughout the match, completing 80.6 percent of his passes.
