CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Lansing Ignite FC left Chattanooga with yet another point on the road, but the team maybe deserved more.
Elma Nfor scored the only goal, his first of the USL League One regular season, for LIFC in the 25th minute of action, as the team played Chattanooga Red Wolves SC to a 1-1 draw at David Stanton Field.
Both sides saw a player ejected from the match by center official Michael Smith, with Chattanooga's Abdoulaye Cisse exiting the match in the 12th minute and Lansing's Kevin Coiffic leaving the field in the 45th minute.
Playing 10-v-10, both teams pushed for more goals in the second half of play, and Red Wolves SC found the equalizer from a corner kick in the 55th minute.
Lansing controlled most of the match following the home side's goal, though, creating the better attacks and chances.
Pato Botello-Faz scored what seemed to be the winning goal in the 68th minute of action, but he was ruled offside by assistant referee Jonathan Fogo. Replays showed the LIFC forward to be onside during the play.
With the result, Lansing moves to 5-5-6 on the season and will look to get back to winning ways against Forward Madison FC at 7 p.m. ET from Cooley Law School Stadium on Tuesday.
ELMA NFOR: The forward scored his first of the USL League One regular season and combined well with his teammates throughout the match, completing 80 percent of his passes.
