It's finally summertime here in Lansing, and as Lansing Ignite FC prepares for yet another home match, we've compiled a list detailing the reasons why you should come out to Cooley Law School Stadium on Wednesday, June 19, to cheer on LIFC against Toronto FC II at 7 p.m.
Lansing Ignite FC will be playing its first match at Cooley Law School Stadium since May 18. Including Saturday's match against Greenville Triumph SC, eight of Lansing's first 12 USL League One games this season have been on the road, so the team will be happy to be back home playing in front of the loud and proud Lansing community.
Lansing is celebrating Pride Month and partnering with the Salus Center, an LGBTQ resource and community center located at 408 S Washington Square to create space for and empower people to authentically live into their whole selves, no matter what intersecting identities they embody. Fans can get specially priced Corner Box Seat tickets for $10, with half the proceeds going to the Salus Center! Click here to secure your ticket.
In addition to offering specially priced tickets to support the Salus Center, on game day, LIFC will host multiple LGBTQ+ organizations on the concourse of Cooley Law School Stadium. They will have the opportunity to share resources with fans to learn more about inclusion and diversity. The Salus Center's Queer Quoir will also perform the national anthem ahead of kickoff, so make sure you're through the gates early.
The match will include two of the highest-scoring teams in all of USL League One. Toronto has netted 20 goals so far this regular season, while LIFC have scored 13 goals. The ball is bound find the back of the net in this meeting, so you won’t want to miss a minute of the action.
Only four teams can secure a spot in the 2019 USL League One Playoffs. Lansing currently sits in fourth place with 13 points in the standings, while Toronto are in third with 18. Every point is important, so the team will need the community's support as it continues to fight for one of those four coveted spots.
