Lansing-based club becomes fourth youth club partner of pro team

LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Ignite FC continues to support and engage with local organizations within the community, announcing today a partnership with Waverly Fùtbol Club (WFC). The Lansing-based youth club becomes the fourth youth team in the area to partner with the professional club, as LIFC has already unveiled partnerships with Cap City Athletic 1847, Lansing Soccer Club and Soccer Kickers.

Included in the partnership are a number of incentives, as well as unprecedented access to LIFC players, the coaching staff and club resources.

“Waverly Fùtbol Club Warriors are excited to score the first goal of the season by partnering up with Lansing Ignite FC,” WFC President Dan Moreno Jr. said.

The mission of Waverly Fùtbol Club (WFC) is to provide the Waverly community and surrounding area with a comprehensive soccer program. The goal of the program is to enable its players to compete at the highest level of soccer through effective training and experience.

WFC's coaches work with players not only on soccer but building and developing communication and leadership skills. The club is dedicated to providing WFC players a high-quality soccer experience that encourages sportsmanship and a love of the game. WFC believes in the importance of the development of player, team and coaches.

LIFC will kick off its USL League One regular season against the Richmond Kickers in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday and against Greenville Triumph SC in Greenville, South Carolina, on April 6. LIFC will hold a celebration in downtown Lansing ahead of the team’s first League One match at Cooley Law School Stadium against the Kickers on April 13 (BUY TICKETS), and the celebration of soccer in the Michigan capital will continue three days later, when LIFC faces off against the Michigan State Spartans in the Capital Cup (BUY TICKETS).
